CROWN AGENTS FOR THE COLONIES.

COMMUNICATIONS ADDRESSED TO THE

RECEIVED 12 SEP 1983

C. O. 1567

REG: 13 SEP 03

DOWNING STREET, LONDON.

With reference to your letter No. 83, last signed by the Police, contemplates the possibility of readiness for item of gear after a long time. It is simpler to say merely that Policemen should have pensions on exactly the same terms as other members of the Service, except that instead of 55 years of age as the age for retirement, they may retire at the age of 45 or 50 - whichever is adopted.

The age of 45 was fixed in the Agreements of the Straits Police lately sent out. A draft on this subject is still in circulation. I now submit a draft to Governor on this paper. G.W.J. 3 Dec. 84

Dated, the 11th July last, I have the honour to inform you that the six Constables required for service in Hong Kong have been obtained from the Glasgow Force, and arrangements have been made for their passages to the Colony on the S.S. "Bellerophon" sailing 18th inst. from Liverpool.

I have the honour to be, Sir, Your Obedient Servant

Under Secretary of State

Colonial Office.

However the initial instruction was followed to keep page information if detected. The text has been reformatted into proper paragraphs and minor corrections were made to ensure coherence and readability. Some OCR errors were corrected, and spacing issues were addressed. The initial text "and the tennis ofthe Lelfect apreements the perfectly duplicit M. Meade Liquid An 20/9/879 Sang trọng 70" appears unrelated to the rest of the content and has been omitted as it does not form a coherent part of the document. File references were checked, but none were found in the provided text that required correction according to rule 10.
